Hey guys and gals,

This last week I was able to get out for the first time since June. Have really been itching and got the Bragg license renewed a week ago. As a side note, thanks to the hunters for not making the lake crowded this week. Saw a total of 3 people the two days I went out. Sure there will be more out there now. Very Happy Shocked

Caught my first fish on my 4th cast with a size 8 stealth bomber on a 6 weight fly rod (also caught a bass on it the second day).

Took a pic of it. Elbow is still messed up so the fly rod got put away after a bit of time both days.

Took a pic of the bass I caught on a Rapala Skitter Pop. I love this bait. It is the first hard bait I've caught fish consistently on. (Bought it at Ollie's when they had a big sale on fishing equipment). Caught a total of 6 bass and 3 bream over the 2 days amassing a total of 4 and 1/2 hours after work.

Caught half the bass including the best of the two days while standing on the boat ramp.

Great report, Bobby! I really love that Sleath Bomber. It does some pretty unique things that fish can't resist.

Yeah it does Tom. The only problem I have with it is that it does not seem to hold up as well as some other foam flies I tie. The back that creates the air bubble does not hold it's form as well. Might be in how I'm tying it though.

I found that it's necessary to create a couple of loose wraps, then gradually tighten with subsequent wraps, as not to cut the foam. It could be that you're cutting through the foam partially which may be causing your flies to be less durable than you would like. I have cut the foam completely while tying myself and it's surprising how easily the thread will slice right through.

Caught 5 more on Wednesday. The skitter pop top water has been hot right before dark.
