Lake Rim empty
I am back into fishing after 24 years and have spent the past two afternoons at Lake Rim and have not even gotten one nibble. Fished top and bottom. Yesterday was great right at the end of the rain storm, hardly no one there. Today, a little different story. A few cars pulled up, about 12 kids all piled out and were jumping off the pier into the water. As I was leaving I seen a sign that plainly states no swimming. I really like that lake feeling there, but no fish and crazy kids make it hard to enjoy.

Re: Lake Rim empty
Dont let lake rim fool you! there are some big bass in there! you need to try to fish somewhere besides the area around the dock, boat ramp, and little beach area. i have had luck in that lake but it is due to the fact that i fish in a yak or boat.
Re: Lake Rim empty
The lake itself has some very nice bass in it and there are some good numbers of pickerel, crappie, and sunfish to be caught, but the lake is hard to fish due to the overabundance of aquatic vegetation. Unfortunately, the lake and access area are woefully unattended by both law enforcement and fisheries management. Yes, wildlife access areas are regulated in that their use is fishing and fishing related activities only, but a blind eye is turned toward all the adulterine activities taking place. Only way to change things is for the public to show concern and voice that concern to those who are entrusted with the care of these areas that sportsmen have financed through license purchase and self imposed taxes such as Pittman_Robertson.
Re: Lake Rim empty
I've caught a few fish in Lake Rim; jacks and a bass or two. I've only fished it 3 or 4 times though, always from a kayak or john boat. It's got fish in it, they're just difficult to find. I haven't figured that lake out yet so I couldn't say.

Re: Lake Rim empty
I have fished Lake rim several times, I've taken the kids and caught some bream off the docks with a bobber and worm. But I have had better luck myself when I go on monday thru friday there are less people. I've had better luck off the the little pier thats got all the trees around it and the small parking lot. Caught 3 or 4 bass over on that side and had a several bites but lost them. I was throwing a black ang blue jig with a rage craw trailer, silver Rat-L-trap, and a spinnerbait with some green and orange in it. The biggest thing with lake rim is trying to be there when its less crowded last time i went 2 ladies were throwing balls in the lake and their dogs chased after them and they were all yelling and it was just a bad trip. hope this helps.
