I got the guide that I ordered from Mud Hole today. I broke the guide either on the way to the pier or at the pier, not sure which , but that is where I noticed the first guide was trashed. So the other day I put a hand wrapper together from wood and parts I scrounged around the house. This afternoon I decided to go ahead and wrap the guide. Still don't have a dryer yet so no epoxy at this time. I will be working on making one of those after the holidays. Anyway here is what I have done so far. The red and yellow stripes on the ugly Stick are painted on, so I won't have to deal with a accent stripe.
Here's the guide all wrapped.

Looks like it's getting the job done. Those are some pretty tight looking wraps there Eddie. I just got some folding money for my birthday so I ordered a rod wrapper and tools. Looking forward to building a few rods over the winter.

Thanks Tom, just order the Flexcoat and color preserver this morning. Hope to pick up some blanks at the rod expo at a good price . I figure that it would be nice to save the postage.
