Williamson Pond 20 Jan 2014
Me, Deepblu505, Art and Crappieassassin met up to hunt some crappie today! Me, Art and Deepblu first started our day out buying some minnows from Gus's Bait shop in Fayetteville NC. Then we met up with Crappieassassin at Williamson Pond. The day started out cold and windy and I landed my first crappie only 10 minutes on the water! At first we were trying to target them in the deepest parts of the pond and every now and then one of us would catch a small crappie. After being blown around the lake I decided to see if I could find them in the shallower parts of the pond. I started catching them in 5 feet of water then I made my way to a small cove that would protect me from the wind and it was like turning on a light switch! Crappieassassin called me from the other side of the pond when he landed a really nice bluegill and I told him he needs to make his way over to were I was at! The bite was so hot that when you boated a crappie and tried to put a new minnow on your other rod would have a fish on it! I had a great time out on the water with everyone! I look forward to more FAAN fishing events this year! I caught 15 crappie and I think we all totaled around 38 fishing together. Here are some pics I took:

Had a good time out there today. It was good to fish with you guys today. Well the experiment with the spider rig didn't go to well...lol...will just stick to 2 rods next time. Wish I had gone to the back of the pond with you guys but my back was killing me so I had to get out of the kayak and walk around. Any how good fishing with yall.

Glad you guys had a good time today, wanted to make it out this morning but between slowly locating gear, finding reels in disrepair, lack of line mainly and honey do's just could not get moving. Did end up finding the ponds on the game lands, floated around with out seeing a fish, but I was on the water.

Good to see you guys got on some fish. Especially before this cold front jacks everything up. Looks like Williamson earned a return trip.
