Re: Swamp Boys 3rd Annual Benefit Catfish Tournament
Hey Rob you know that is a 2007 Flyer right, I would love to fish this tourney with you if it is not the same weekend as the Red x Meet and greet.
Re: Swamp Boys 3rd Annual Benefit Catfish Tournament
yeah i know that it is the flyer from 2007. I need to get over to the riverside to get the new flyer but when i get off work they are closed! i will try to get one by this weekend! Tom told me about the event and thinks we should put a FAAN group or 2 in the event! I know that i really want to fish this!
Re: Swamp Boys 3rd Annual Benefit Catfish Tournament
Sounds good to me , I 'll put my boat in if we can get enough people interested. The FAAN should be represent at this event.
Re: Swamp Boys 3rd Annual Benefit Catfish Tournament
I contacted Jamey Ake. He is one of the program coordinators for the Swamp Boys St. Judes tournament. Here is the information on the tournament:
Captains meeting is on the 7th of May at the Sirens club in Fayetteville from 4:30 PM to 11:00 pm. If you fish in the tournament you have to be there to register and get your arm bracelet. the reason the meeting is on the 7th is to help the guys that are going to be fishing the east side of the state on the neuse river. the fishing dates are on the 14th and 15th of may. you can put your boat in the water at 6am and at 8am you can put your hook in the water. on the 15th you must be off the water and at gandermoutian by 10am for the weight in. the 2 rivers to fish are the cape fear and the neuse river. you can only put in on a ramp on the river. you are not aloud to put in on a ramp on a creek that runs into the river. you can fish the whole river anything from fayetteville to southport. i am going to stop by riverside to get a flyer to post up and if anyone has anymore questions please let me know!

Re: Swamp Boys 3rd Annual Benefit Catfish Tournament
i forgot to add something, as for teams it is by boat. you can have 1 person in a boat or how ever many people you can fit in a boat to fish the event. so if we get 3 or 4 people that can fit in a boat that could be one team or 2 people per boat making 2 teams. I really want to fish the event so i will split the cost of everything to fish in the tournament.

Re: Swamp Boys 3rd Annual Benefit Catfish Tournament
Got another question...do the fish have to be alive at the weigh in? I have my big 105 qt Igloo I can rig as a live well but not for more than a couple of big fish.
Re: Swamp Boys 3rd Annual Benefit Catfish Tournament
eddie you weight in 3 catfish and yes they have to be alive!
Re: Swamp Boys 3rd Annual Benefit Catfish Tournament
the cost of the event is 40 dollars person to fish on the 7th. 60 for late reg fee.
Re: Swamp Boys 3rd Annual Benefit Catfish Tournament
Ok so it $40 on the 7th and $60 after the 7th ...that is per person not per boat right? Where are you wanting to fish? Up this part of the river or down near Wilmington?
Re: Swamp Boys 3rd Annual Benefit Catfish Tournament
eddie that is 40 per person. and i dont care were we fish on the river, but i really want to learn the cape fear around here!
Re: Swamp Boys 3rd Annual Benefit Catfish Tournament
Cool Rob, I want to learn the river up here also and there are big cats at this end too . So I say we scout out the upper Cape Fear. This really sounds like fun , I am going to put the Bimini on my boat this week. That was nice the last time I spent the night on the river and it rained.
Re: Swamp Boys 3rd Annual Benefit Catfish Tournament
and the top would help keep the sun from beating us down! I need to stop by gander and get 2 more cat fish rods before the 22nd! i have 3 but i want 2 more! I am really looking forward to fish the river!
Re: Swamp Boys 3rd Annual Benefit Catfish Tournament
Put the Bimini Top on today we are still looking at doing this right? Want to get out on the river soon to check it out. Newberger's team caught 93lbs of catfish in the long whiskers tourney at Locke one last week. Need to find the holes.
