2011 FAAN Christmas Party Announced

Hey guys, an invitiation will be hitting your inboxes very soon. The purpose of this post is announce the date of the Christmas and to give everyone a heads up on what is coming. We have had such wonderful dishes in our pot luck dinner that we could use this thread to see what everyone is bringing. Maybe this will help in making the decision in whether you would like to a main dish, side, or dessert. The Gallahers' have graciously agreed to provide the drinks.

Sharon and I,are as in years before looking forward to the party. It is really great to get together and just have a good time. Sharon told me to post that we are bringing a Cannoli Platter again. Looking forward to seeing everyone there.

Wish I wasn't missing all these events. Making some good monies though to support the fishing habit when I get back. Hope you all have good holidays and need to keep up posting the fall catches. Its nice to know how you all are doing out there.

Howdy Gang-

Al Kittredge invited me to join the Caldwell Community Hunting Club's Wounded Warrior Deer Hunt, last week. I went along as "Data Man" -- to maintain the paperwork of dispatching hunters, guides, property owners and logging the hunters & guides back in at the Command Post, along with assuring that the deer they got were "Registered" with the state wildlife commission. I didn't hunt, but stayed at the CP -- warm & comfy!

Fortunately, one of the Wounded Warrior Hunters [who got 3 deer] offered me a hind quarter and both backstraps -- an offer I gratefully accepted! So, for the Christmas Party Dinner, we'll be bringing a "Deer Meat Roast" [that's "venison" for you city folks].

As of now, I am planning to be there. My smoker is currently down for the count but if I can get it back online in time, I'll bring some pulled pork.

Anita and I will be there. I'll try to compete with Mike Davis for the best venison recipe:lol:

By now everyone should be aware that there have been some changes to our plans. Mainly, that we are moving the event to the Pechmann Fishing Education Center at 7489 Raeford Road. The White Elephant Gift Exchange will begin at 8:00 PM as previousily discussed and the pot-luck dinner will begin at 7:00pm. We hope that everyone will feel free to join us and kids are welcome.

Tammy and I will be at the center on December 16th at 6:30, if anyone would like to help with the decorations.

Also, we are going to provide the sodas, cups, plates, and flatware and whatever else pops into her mind in the interim.

This will be an alcohol free event, which in no way diminishes the level of fun and fellowship that we have at our Christmas parties. We hope that you will join us as we celebrate the season, recall past fishing adventures, and look forward to new ones.

So kid friendly event that mean that Tom dressing up in a Santa suit.

If you come up with enough money, I might just do it.
