Removing Backlash!!

Found a neat trick for those of you who suffer from professional over run. It might make life a little easier on your next trip.

Neat trick , that looks pretty easy , If I ever get a Backlash I will try that out ....should be about ten minutes into my next fishing trip.

Nice! Ha I have 50lb braid on the bait caster now which is virtually immune to those snags on a backlash. Not a big fan of the braid though so this is definitely a good thing for me to try. When I go out Sunday I will try and work up a good birds nest and try this.

But seriously, next time I fish with my personal backlashing device I will try that technique.

Also tried this technique on my outing on Sunday. It works! Pretty cool. I was using heavy braided line (thankfully for the fish in my kayak post) which is usually easy to un-birdsnest anyways but really does work. Thanks for the tip!

I saw this video a few months back while searching the net for something else. I don't own a baitcaster, so I was never able to test it. Good to know that it works so that I know what I'll be spending all my time doing once I do get a baitcaster.

I put this method to use at the Family Day with who had just purchased a brand new baitcaster. I could tell that he was seriously rethinking his purchase decision until I showed him how to remove the backlash. I will admit that I surprised myself with this technique. I now think that I may even be able to remove Eric's backlashes.

Went fishing with my father in law a couple of months back. He had a baitcaster that had not been used in about 4 years. This technique worked great on his reel. Thanks Tom.
