Re: Kayak Wars?????
Got a question (I am sure is in the rules , I am just to lazy to look LOL) Does it mater what you use for bait? Like can we use live bait for Bass? I know that in Fla. we used big shiners and caught huge bass that way. Just thinking we are going for the win I aint to proud to live bait bass.
Re: Kayak Wars?????
Yup live bait is fine. Their big thing is rod and reel and physically in the kayak for the catch. Paddling to the shallows then wading with a kayak on a rope is a no no.

Re: Kayak Wars?????
Thanks Luni, Ok now have to find some very large minnows. I know that would work good on the Jacks too.
Re: Kayak Wars?????
You also want to make sure you take a photo of the fish on the measuring board and your camera has to have the date and time set!
Re: Kayak Wars?????
They Have a tutorial on the forum on how to submit a photo. it tell about getting your time and date right. You can also submit a test photo from the tutorial if you time and date is right it will work if not it wont telling you that you need to get the camera settings right.
Got mine set up and the test photo uploaded fine so I am good.

Re: Kayak Wars?????
I am putting together a fish document with all of the measurements for the fresh and saltwater fish. I should be done with it next week and I will make everyone a copy. I am thinking about heading out to Harris or Jordan on the 2nd of Feb! Let me know who wants to join me!
Re: Kayak Wars?????
I was thinking about putting the freshwater sizes on a 3x5 index card, wrapping it in tape, and sticking it to the center console.

I plan on laminating them for everyone.
Re: Kayak Wars?????
Sounds good Hemi, I wont be able to go on the 2nd of Feb. But I am going to get out somewhere that week. Maybe the Game lands try for some jacks.
Re: Kayak Wars?????
You're the man.
Cabin fever put to good use. Finally set up my crate. Might add some bungees to keep rods secured in the holders and might make a lid for the crate but that'll do for now.
Made semi-rigid bungee straps out of fuel hose and shock cord for the measuring trough and net. PVC and zip ties for the rod holders. Also made a stake out pole out of a 4-8ft telescoping painters pole and a garden hose spike thing that happened to thread on the end of it.

Eddie - are you planning on fishing the 2nd locally? If so I maybe down for a trip to a local hotspot! Very nice setup Luni! I need to finish my create set up for my yak!

Nice crate Luni I got my all fixed up then decided I didn't like fishing with a crate. It was just to much trouble to reach into for me. I might you it if I every get down and go off shore with the yak.
Re: Kayak Wars?????
I'm not gonna copy everything over from my other post but a solid opening day puts us at 20 pts for 2 crappie and 10 pts 2 sunfish. Missed 10 pts for largemouth and a 3 species grand slam by 1/4 inch. I measured that bass every way I could think of and couldn't make him longer. I wanted to be upset but I caught an almost 16" largemouth on ultralight and 4lbs test which was just a blast. I'll upload them later on tonight and see you guys on Upchurch tomorrow.
The dude from KFA double posted a catfish, they really only have 40 points. 1/4 inch of bass and a 1/2 inch of crappie and we'd be in the lead right now. A good day at Upchurch and we could stay on the leader board for a bit. I don't actually expect to stay competitive in this thing for long it's just exciting to see FAAN on the Top 5.
