I am new here on this forum... Empty Fly Fishing on the Cape Fear River

Post  Pat K Sun May 19, 2013 3:14 pm

A good time is always experienced when fly fishing the Cape Fear River. Not large fish, but due to the fallen trees the activities is always fun.
P.S. This is my first post and I hope I did it correctly?

Hey Pat welcome to the forum. Glad to have you with us.
Usually you would start a new thread to introduce yourself, more people will see it, instead of just those who are following this thread. From the home screen go to member intros and hit new topic.
You are right about fly fishing the cape fear, I love taking the kayak out and hitting the the down trees and such with the long rod.

Welcome Pat. I too fish the Cape Fear as it is one of the few places nearby where I can run my boat. I primarily fish for bass but enjoy some cat fishing also. I fish mostly up-stream from Riverside but you need to be very careful. You can take the lower unit off the motor with a rock. http://epec.saw.usace.army.mil/dsscfr.txt

Pat, I guess I timed out. This site can give you some good info. If you see the SEA DANCER on the river, flag me down and chat a few.
