Cabela's Saddle Hackle
I recently bought some Strung Saddle Hackle from Cabela's and I basically feel that it's useless. It's much to short for anything, but your smallest Wooly Buggers or maybe small Deceivers. Additionally, most feathers are far too webby to tie really good buggers.
Re: Cabela's Saddle Hackle
Thanks for the heads up. That's why i'm starting to go to the synthetic palmer chenille as it is hard to buy good quality feathers online without touching them first.

Re: Cabela's Saddle Hackle
I bought several assorted a couple of months back, they were on sale. When I opened the package it was in 2 parts. One part had nice hackle and the other part was small mini hackle, not good for what I was trying to do. So in a 1/4 ounce package only 1/8 was good. Take away from the good part of the hackle 1/16 oz and you end up with maybe 1/16 or so of the hackle that is useable..
