Where to fly fish? Empty Where to fly fish?

Hello! Ok well I did some fly fishing several yrs ago in MO and I would like to get back to it, we just moved a few months ago to NC and was wondering if there are any good trout spots around Pinehurst or anywhere near central NC (seems all the good spots are on the west?). I know the Seven Lakes area could be a good start for practicing again for bass and crappie and others, but would like to do mostly trout fishing. So any suggestions on where to go? I don't even know which flies are hot in NC! but I guess a 5wt set up will work ok?
Thanks

Trout fishing is out west. Or you can go to the smith river in Virginia.

I go on the lower little and Rhodes pond is really good for bass and gills. Saw a pickerel get pulled out of there the other day. If you have a yak it opens up a lot of possibility for this area. I have been fishing Popper's and divers in holes in the Lilly pads at Rhodes and have had good luck so far. Caught a nice Gill on a bad backcast as well. Some of the Bragg lakes are nice if you get a Bragg license. You can tie up a rope lure and go for gar on the cape really fun fight and you make the lure with out a vise and normal tying gear.

Ok that works. I'm at Bragg so should be a problem. Now what wt rod/reel combo will work? 6wt?
