In the wake the Understanding Sonar class that was instructed by Jamey Caldwell, I have been looking for more information on the subject and came across this link http://fishinweb.com/messages/messages/13028/13028.html?1250904726

There's some great information here that I think will help you interpret your sonar much better.

Good info. The class was very good also. I learned alot. Do you have his email? Would like to ask him if he could get some more math equations from Hummingbird that they use in their work. Would really help me be able to answer "where do we use this in the real world?"

Very good read. I am one of those guys who had a few bucks laying around and decided to get a sonar. I do understand the basics of it but still, getting the hook close enough to the fish still eludes me. Then again, I'm a hands on learner. I can sit in class all day but until someone physically shows me, I can only go so far. Great article.

That is a great article. I am one of those that don't really understand everything that I am seeing on my sonar. I was not able to be at the meeting that Jamey gave , really wish I could have made it. I here it was very good and helped a lot. It seems that the author of the artical had planned to add more to the article , but since the last post was in Aug. of 2009 , that he might not do that. That is a shame because I am really getting s lot out of it. Sad
