DIY Pole Anchor System $21
I have found a place to purchase the fiberglass solid rods to make these at $16 dollars each. The Shipping is $32 (yeah wow I know , but wait) they will ship up to 22 pieces for the same price. My thinking is if we could get several of to make one or two for their boats or Kayaks we could save big time on the shipping. Here's a picture of the system and a link that tells how to make them . Not much tit epoxy a 3/4 PVC s40 t add rubber grip and sharpen the point. He used rod holders for the mount.

So let me know if anyone is interested to go in on a order.

Re: DIY Pole Anchor System $21
Well that's two of us, Scott maybe interested. I'll check with Hemi and Eric they both might be also. Figure give it a little time maybe some more will be also. Every split on the postage will be helpful.

Well thats 5 or 6 way split on the postage that's good it knocks it down quite a bit. I will give Hemi a shout I believe he wanted one also . Then we will figure out an exact total and order them.

Ok guys just got with Hemi, and he is in for one so lets get a total count of how many we want. get back to me and if you would like we can put the order together Thursday at the meeting.Looking like about 6 or 7 maybe so 4.50 to 5.30 or so shipping for each pole. Not bad considering how much they want for the Stick its .

Re: DIY Pole Anchor System $21
Ok just got off the phone with the pole retailer and got the final scoop. The cost of shipping for 1-22 rods is $31.35 , there is a $2.00 charge for packing (total not per piece) if we order 10 or more we get a 10% discount. It looked like on the high end we have a order of 11 rods, he quoted me out the door $191.75, that would be $17.43 a piece delivered. Big time savings over commercial. So I need a total everyone wants and then I can come up with the exact amount I will need to order them. So shoot me an email at Deepblu505@gmail.com tell me how many you want.

Re: DIY Pole Anchor System $21
Hey Guys,
Never got mine going but found these items on their website. I really like the grips and the stainless steel spike. They said that they can ship 6 grips and a bunch of the tips in a single box for 7.80 shipping and handling. If anyone is interested let me know. I'm at least gonna order the spike.

Re: DIY Pole Anchor System $21
Bobby that is where I got the idea, but I bought the poles straight from the manufacturer at a lot cheaper. As for the tip , all I did was sharpen the pole on the end and it worked fine, I picked up a bicycle handle grip for a handle. Just saying.
Re: DIY Pole Anchor System $21
What did you use to sharpen the end of the pole down? I'm limited in my tools. I do have cheap harbor freight tools knock off dremel that might work i guess. I'm guessing you used a sanding drum of some sort?

Re: DIY Pole Anchor System $21
I used a belt sander , a really crappy one I think I got it at Harbor freight. If you ask Tom he would probably let you use the grinder at the center.
