Just found this through NCAngler.....nice place, look forward to meeting some of you. Just getting back to making time to go fishing, let life get in the way too long.
Have a 6yo little boy who wants to make it a more regular habit...this is us Saturday, April 12, 2014 at Mazerick Park #2, otherwise known as Glenville, never have caught a thing out of there.

Re: Just found the place....cool.
Welcome. Most of us fish out of kayaks it seems but there's some great bank fishing ponds around here.
Crappie moved up into the shallows and bream should be moving up to spawn pretty soon. If you guys want to get on fish just grab a couple ultralight rods, bait holders, and bobbers. Minnows, worms, or dough balls. Toss them out and hold on. If you're feeling really ambitious keep one of those small bluegill, hook under the dorsal fin on a heavy carolina rig and sling him out to the edge of the weedline and see what happens.
Water has finally warmed up consistently in the 60s around here. Upchurch was in the 60s on Sunday. A small beaver pond I fish was even up in the 70s a couple weeks ago.

Re: Just found the place....cool.
Welcome aboard. Glad you found us. Lots of good bank fishing around.
At Mazerick, you pretty much have to rent a boat and go around the corner. If you have access to a trolling motor they let you use it on the john boat. There are or were (been a few years since I went out there) some really nice fish in there.
If you don't mind spending a bit more, there are lots of good bank fishing spots on Bragg once you buy the license.
