Heading over to Rhodes Pond

Heading over to Rhodes Pond Thursday this week with the Aloha Dog. Going to try out some of these flies I have been tying. I hope to get over there early in the day . Taking out the kayaks. Any one interested we would be glad to fish with you.

Y'all put out a tempting mental health day. But I will have to pass and go to work. This working thing sucks. lol

Wish you could make it, don't know if we will do any good but really wanting to try out some of these flies

I found the black river out there Ed. After you go through the pass go straight ahead and you'll find it. During summer it is blocked completely by a large lily pad field.

Well Aloha Dog and I hit Rhodes this Morning about 0900, with our kayaks and fly rods. Air Temp was 44 and the water temp was right at 50. Wind about 12 mph wind chill 31. We paddle over to the fishing pier and fished Heavy Woolly Buggers for a while. Then over to the damn switched up flies a few time but nothing was working. So it was basically a cold paddle around the pond. Was not to bad out of the wind but when we started back through the pass and got the full force in our face it was biting. We called it about 1200 and headed home.

Here's Eric in full battle rattle it was a bit chilly.

For those that know me I wore long pants so that should tell you about the temps.


Maybe next time ...

Wouldn't mind meeting up with you guys one day out there. I've been there 3 times with the jon boat since I've had it back in the water. Have learned a little bit about the place.

Sounds good Bobby we need to figure out when we can do it. I really don't know that lake to fish it well. I have mostly just paddled around and fished here and there.
