Hello everyone
Moved to Fayetteville-Linden area in Oct 2010 working on Fort Bragg as a civilian. Looking to get back into fishing. Fished with my grandpa when I was growing up, but have not fished much since 2006. Bank fishing now and looking to get a small john boat soon. Would like to check out the lakes on Fort Bragg and some of the lakes up in Raliegh as well.

Re: Hello everyone
Welcome aboard! There's plenty of great fishing in the area and beyond. In addition, there are a bunch of great fishing activities to that the FAAN offers. Hope to see you soon.
Re: Hello everyone
Great to have ya. Your post looks almost identical to mine from 3 or 4 years ago. The Bragg lakes offer some decent opportunities to fish, even for a bank angler. My biggest piece of advice however would be that if you're fishing from the banks in the grass, make sure to take plenty of bug spray and check for ticks when you get home. Before I got my kayak, I found ticks on me almost everytime I got home from one of the Bragg lakes.

hello everyone
Welcome juparker. Bank fishing is still fishing, and can be a lot of fun after you find the hot spots. Twenty years ago I rented 14 ft jon boats with 9.9 hp mercs from MWR at Bragg for decent prices. Might be worth a phone call for something until you get your boat! Surf fishing is heating up for the fall season down at Ft Fisher. You can walk the beach, or get a permit for beach driving if you have a 4-wheeler. Keep us posted on your adventures!
