FAAN Family Day
In the past four years, the FAAN has held many activities and taken many opportunities to get together as a group to share fishing knowledge and our friendships. However, this year, we have the unique opportunity to hold a Family Day at the Pechmann Fishing Education Center. This event will be held on May 22nd, 2011 from 1:00pm until 5:00pm. The ponds at the center will be available for our group to fish, so bring the kids. The only rules are that you can’t fish with minnows and you must release your catch. We will be using the center’s picnic area to grill hot dogs, burgers, and brats. To cover the cost of the food we will selling tickets for $5 each , however kids under 12 can eat free. In addition to the food and fishing , we will have a surf casting and fly casting challenge set up for anyone interested in trying their hand in these areas. I will have tickets abvaile starting Monday, May 2nd and you can contact me at 910-494-2757 to get you tickets or pick them up at the May 5th meeting. Please, feel free to call me with any questions.

Re: FAAN Family Day
Who said there is nothing to do in Fayetteville?
Come on guys and gals this is an excellent opportunity for some family fun and to meet like minded people. Although this is billed as a FAAN event it is open to all who have an interest in the outdoors. I know Tom and all the regulars will welcome you and use the occasion to bend your ear about fishing opportunities with FAAN.
They do need to order enough food for everyone so call Tom at 910-494-2757 to ask questions or confirm that you will be there.

You can certainly count me and my wife in for this one. Though if there are like minded folks such as me, then we are in for some real trouble

I posted a handful of pics over on the Facebook page. We had a great time. Thanks to everyone who came out. Very specail thanks to Bobby Parker for getting all the food together and cooking for everyone. Also thanks to Art Ingalls who functioned as Bobby's Sous-chef.
Looks like there are a few new members to add to our rolls.

I would like to thank Tom, Bobby, Art and anyone who had anything to with the event yesterday. It was a little hot but I had a nice time and was forunate enought to bring a young man with me who caught his first 3 fish ever.

Good Plan - Well Executed - Fishin' Food & Fun
What a great afternoon!! The fantastic folks fixin' & feedin' flavorful food seemed to be enjoying themselves - while all of us who dined on delicious Burgers, Dogs & Bratwurst were made VERY happy.
From my vantage point, it appeared that more fish were being pulled in by the kids than by their parents -- smiles of the faces of all.
Heck, I even caught a couple!
Thanks to the Wildlife Commission, the Pechmann Center and the FAAN members who organized and facilitated the fun.
